  Meetings are from 10:30am to 3pm in the craft room of the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead Rd, Camano Island.

  We'll have 2 1/2" strips & 5" squares along with other fabrics.

  Bring a sack lunch. Masks optional.

  If you know a longarm quilter that would like to work their magic on a Hero Quilt let us know!

  You need to be a Center member, $30 annual fee, or pay $5 per session for non-members.

  Bring a project to show others what you are working on OR questions or problems you may have. The group will discuss how to help.  We have all levels of embroiderer, from new to experienced. Bring your Show and Tells to share what to do or what not to do or just get help!

  Anyone curious about Machine Embroidery is welcome. Open to the public.

  Our January meeting will be on January  at our usual meeting venue, Skagit Medical Center in Stanwood. We will be having a demonstration of FREE-STANDING LACE. I will go through the process from stabilizers, hooping, stitching and finishing the project.

  Please join us for our annual Comfort Quilt Sew Day!

  This event is typically held the first Wednesday of January in place of the general meeting.

  Lunch is not provided so please bring a sack lunch. Desserts will be provided!

  
  

  Here is a greeting from the Comfort Quilt committee:

  Come join the Comfort Quilt Sew-In on January and celebrate our accomplishment of delivering over 100 quilts to Providence, Friendship House, and WIC in December!

  Kits, fabric, and batting will be available at the Sew-In, all General meetings, and Open Sew so we can a head start on making quilts for June's delivery! Bring your machine and/or cutting implements and join the sewing fun, or just come and show your support, mingling and enjoying the company!

  We will be drawing 2 tickets for a $20.00 gift certificates for YLI threads. We will also announce the next incentive for June's delivery!

  CIQ Boomerang Group
  (formerly Row Robin)  

  Boomerang Group will be the 4th Thursdays each month at Amigo Family Restaurant in the theater center. Our current group will go from January thru June 2026.

  We do quilt block exchanges starting at noon, then lunch.

  If you have never participated and want to join in the fun, just bring your blocks with instructions and fabrics in a container that can be passed on. You will then get a different project to work on each month, 6 months at a time. In June you will receive your project back with blocks completed by other participants. 

  Hope you can join us. We all feel this is a fun way to learn new blocks, and do ones we are familiar with.

  Boomerang Group is open to non-CIQ members and welcomes visitors to come and see the process. It's much more clear to see it in action!

  Our own  Barbara Whitaker is going to teach how to make these fabric bags out of a jelly roll and interfacing. 

  ** Please note that there is an overview pre-class on January 7th during our sew-in (time TBD) to help you prepare for the main workshop. They will go over the materials needed, fabric suggestions, and prep assignments. 

  For this workshop:

  • Cost will be $35.00 for members, $50 for non-members. Non-member registration will be available October 22nd
  • You need to buy the pattern which was published by Aunties Two Patterns. (available at Over the Rainbow and other usual sources)
  • We will provide irons, parchment paper, and the handle supplies.
  • Supply list will be sent with the paid registration- also more info is on the pattern. 
  • This project requires a robust sewing machine that can zigzag a thick project.
