Camano Island Quilters |
We have a special “workshop” in January where we sew Comfort Quilts for Special needs children at Providence Hospital Children’s Center and their families, Skagit Friendship House, and our local WIC program. Our goal is for each child in the program and their siblings to receive a quilt.
CIQ provides Comfort Quilts for:
CIQ has stocking patterns, fabric, and embellishments, to sew Christmas stocking to help bring holiday cheer to children in our community. These items are available at our Open Sew gathering 2nd Monday of each month. Each year members bring the stocking to the annual Christmas luncheon in December, then are distributed to local charities.
CIQ Community Open Sew is scheduled from 10am to 2pm, every 2nd Monday of the month at Stanwood United Methodist Church, and is open to Members as well as the community. This is an opportunity to bring sewing projects that you may need help with or you want to sew with like minded folks; and for those who wish to learn to sew are encouraged to join our open sewing sessions once per month.
