Cama Beach Quilters
2nd and 4th Tues 10AM
The most lovely Quilters with a mission to make quilts for the for the state park’s cabins... bringing back a little history to the park. The quilts are also for sale. The proceeds go to supplies and interpretative programs in the park.
CBQ is off and running at the start of a new year's crop of quilts for the Cama cabins. We have lots of fabric and lots of ideas for mostly scrappy quilts and are always open to new volunteers. We meet twice a month, on the second and fourth Tuesday (with minor exceptions), at the Cama Center at Cama Beach State Park at 10:00 starting with a short "business" meeting, then proceeding to work on individual projects or with others. We'll be making our fourth raffle quilt from African fabrics that will benefit a village in Zimbabwe. We also make cabin block totes and wall hangings to be sold at the park. As state park volunteers we receive a yearly parking pass for 24 hours of work (which probably is the amount of time spent making a quilt top), and most of the quilting is done by Susan Palmer and paid for by the park. Call or text Pam if you'd like more information about Camano Beach Quilters.
