OPEN SEW is Busy, Busy, Busy.  Lots happening this Monday, March 14, 11:00-3, at the Camano Center, 606 Arrowhead.  Open Sew is free but the Camano Center asks that you be a member, $30/year, or $5/visit.  We have Scholarships available.   Masks may be required.

  • ·       Pam F. will be there with Raffle tickets for Lilija T. Quilt with proceeds going to Stanwood Food Bank.
  • ·       Jerri F. will be there representing Comfort Quilts.  She will have fabric bundles, pattern options, and can take any finished quilts.  This is also a good time to sit and work on your comfort quilt project.

Next Open Sew, March 28th, Sandy C. will be demonstrating sewing a small, zippered purse.  For all those interested in attending the list of supplies and materials is below.

  • 1.     2 fat quarters (or at least the equivalent amount of fabric - one for the outer/main side and one for the lining
  • 2.     fusible pelon interfacing (Pelon 907 is my fav) I will bring some if you don't have such a thing
  • 3.     1 coordinating zipper at least 14 -16 inch.      I'm also bringing LOTS of zippers as well.
  • 4.     AND of course, sewing machine and all that goes with it *ruler, rotary, extra thread, and blade and cutting mat"

Jan has a lot of mats, rulers, and irons --- BUT if you have your own you can zip right through making your purse

I have my own small iron which is needed as well.

Maybe you have a quilting question, bring it in I'll try to help.  Hope to see everyone then.  Jan C.

Zoom is available for CIQ members only  for those unable to attend.
